Sunday afternoon, I was honored to cater a Campaign Brunch and Get Together for a California State Senate hopeful.
We opted for a buffet as the small get together was casual. Carolynn Cozen and her husband, whom I've known since the Bambu days over 20 plus years ago, hosted this lovely event at their totally repurposed home. They are equally as involved and concerned with the environment as well. You feel like you're somewhere in France, not Malibu!
As for the menu, we chose home-smoked salmon with a Shiracha-Yuzu Mayonnaise spread on top and garnished with pomegranate seeds, micro basil and thinly sliced lemons. Charcuterie that included speck and bresola and duck confit with sliced pretzel bread loaf, mini brioche buns, horseradish mustard, gherkins, and dried tomatoes. We also served spinach and drunken goat cheese frittata muffins and cold asparagus with dill croutons and shredded egg with raspberry balsamic syrup. A cheese board full of the best cheeses was a big hit too, with sides of olives, macerona almonds, honeycomb, truffle honey, dark chocolate-fig chocolate and dried apricot log. Below are some photos.
